Meet the founder
Chip Sprague · Founder
Chip Sprague has worked in the home industry since the late 90s. He runs a residential and commercial home inspection company in the Carolinas, holds a North Carolina general contractor license qualified for both residential and commercial building, and invests in real estate. He has seen the house from every side of the deal: the inspector writing the report, the contractor doing the work, and the investor making the purchase.
More than 20 years in home inspection showed him where transactions stall. Inspection reports are written to the standards that states and professional organizations require. That language is precise and thorough, and it is hard for most buyers to follow. Agents end up translating. Buyers end up guessing.
DocReviewIQ grew out of that gap. It takes a report apart and explains it in plain language, so buyers understand the home they are buying and can make informed decisions, and agents can move the transaction forward with less back and forth. It does not replace the report or the inspector. It helps everyone read the report better.
